I am currently BETA testing my application and someone reported a possible issue with the "Show spelling errors as you type" option (see below). What is to the right of that option in the white box? Is it suppose to be an example of a misspelling with a squiggly red underline? If so, then it doesn't seem that any underline is displayed... also, maybe the background color is wrong. On my Windows 7 machine, the box's background color is the same color as the rest of the dialog, but it appears to be white in the customer provided screenshot - perhaps it is suppose to have the same background color as the rest of the dialog?

Not a big issue but wanted to report it and pass it along.

So the App does show the correct dialog on your machine?

We are unaware of any specific problem - can you let us know more details about the customer's system? For example O/S, Language, Themes, etc as I may be able to duplicate the problem in a Virtual Machine...

BTW the Addict Dialogs can be replaced if you prefer different dialogs

I think the main problem is that there is no squiggly red line... is there on your system? Is there suppose to be one under "errorss"? As for the inconsistent background color, perhaps it is not set to clWindow when it should be?



Ahh... but I'm lazy and don't want to do the work.

Ah - yes there is supposed to be a red squiggly line there and I just checked with my v4.3 Addict 4 Demo under Windows 7 and the red squiggly line does not appear It used to so we will have to find what the problem is....

OK, I'm glad you can reproduce it. Fortunately just a cosmetic issue.

And there is still another cosmetic issue that I reported before but haven't found a solution. Again, it's not a biggy, but the text in the dialog on my Windows 7 machine still does not render in ClearType, but does in my own dialogs. I'm not sure why that is, but it would be nice if that issue could be addressed as well (but don't spend too much time on it!).

Some bugs in the handling of Spell Checking and ReadOnly controls were fixed - and sadly this has also caused the red squiggly to disappear from the options

A quick fix seems to be:

Turn off ReadOnly for SpellingErrorsEdit in ad4ConfigurationDialog then it seems to work okay.

You may also want to set ParentColor to True for that control if the dialog is not being used with Runtime Themes - though if you are using Themes then this will be grey when the background isn't - so will need a more involved solution
