I do pretty much the same thing in my apps. I display in read only and then
change to Edit when the user wants to edit the record.

Do you have the LiveSpellingReadOnly set to False? Then you shouldn't need
to toggle anything...

As I still can't reproduce :(  Perhaps you can give me more precise steps of
what to type and do...
