Addict3 problem: checked works not being selected?

i have a small problem using Addict 3:

i dropped a TAddictSpell3 component onto my form and then call
CheckWinControl(.., ctAll) to check the contents ofma DbMemo (or,
alternatively, the DbRichEdit derrived component that comes with
Addict).

the spell checker chesk the contenst fine, but then currently checked
word is not being highlighted in the memo. only after i cancel the
checking, the last checked word is being selected.

any thoughts? am i missing additional steps to make this work?
